Physios for ME present to Physiotherapy Students

On Tuesday 19 January, Physios for ME took part in an online presentation to physiotherapy students about Long Covid. We were joined by Darren Brown from Long Covid Physio and Emma Gentle, a physio who manages a Long Covid rehab service.

We covered incidence, demographics and symptoms, what can be learned from post viral fatigue syndrome and ME, fatigue definition and management, precautions about exercise, and personal Long Covid experiences.

We were delighted to have the opportunity to talk directly to this new generation of physiotherapists, especially as it gave us the chance to discuss ME (and we already know that ME is often not covered in undergraduate courses).

Over 400 students attended on the evening, and there was some brilliant feedback via social media.

The presentation has been recorded and is available to watch here.

The evening was organised by the Student Reference Group (the SRG), a group of 12 student members who volunteer their time to promote the views of student members within the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP). We'd like to thank the SRG for this opportunity and for their engagement in this important subject.
